Blake’s Facilities and Maintenance teams partnered with the New Mexico Ramp Project on March 12, 2026 to build and refresh a wheelchair ramp for an individual with mobility challenges, providing immediate improvements in accessibility and independence.
Past LOTA Heart Initiatives
Since 2016, Blake’s LOTABURGER has proudly served as Sponsor of the Lobo Cancer Challenge, a signature annual event that brings the New Mexico community together to unite against cancer. In 2025, the Challenge celebrated another record year, gathering nearly 2,000 participants to support the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only 53 National Cancer Institute–designated centers, placing it among the top 3% of elite cancer centers nationwide.
Each year, 100% of the funds raised by participants go directly toward cancer research and patient care, making this event a vital contributor to lifesaving progress. The Blake’s team has joined fellow “Challengers” by participating in the walk, run, and bike events, while also providing breakfast burritos, coffee, and other refreshments to all attendees.
For nearly a decade, Blake’s has valued the opportunity to support this meaningful cause and stand alongside a community dedicated to making a difference. Our commitment to the Lobo Cancer Challenge remains strong as we continue to champion efforts that bring hope, healing, and unity in the fight against cancer.
Blake’s LOTABURGER is proud to support KOAT 7’s KOATS for Kids, an annual initiative that helps keep children across New Mexico warm during the winter months. Each year, many Blake’s locations serve as convenient drop-off sites where community members can donate new coats for kids of all ages.
Once collected, these coats are sorted and delivered to school districts statewide, ensuring they reach families who need them most. Thanks to the generosity of our guests and communities, thousands of children are able to stay warm throughout the cold season.

September 2024: Blake’s LOTABURGER partnered with HopeWorks NM, one of New Mexico’s largest homeless service providers, to donate lunch and provide volunteers for a community picnic serving 75 people. To honor HopeWorks’ mission of offering support, healing, safety, and love to those experiencing homelessness, Blake’s provided all the fixings for LOTA Frito Pies. There was a grateful crowd that gathered to celebrate the picnic & serve themselves a hefty serving of Frito Pie.
The Blake’s Team was excited to volunteer their time for people in need. HopeWorks continues to “heal homelessness” by providing access to day shelter, housing, and mental and behavioral health services, and Blake’s is proud to contribute meals that help ease the challenges faced by those in need.
Team Blake’s hit the course to participate in the Somos Unidos Foundation Foot Golf Tournament, a community fundraiser hosted by New Mexico United that brings people together through a fun and unique blend of soccer and golf. This annual event supports the foundation’s mission to expand access to soccer through its Soccer Belongs to Everyone programming, which provides community clinics for New Mexico residents.
Blake’s HR team came together to take part in the tournament, enjoying a day of friendly competition in support of a meaningful cause. Team Blake’s, assembled by HR Manager Kat Lite, won (ok, tied for first…) the tournament this past year! Former NM United team member, Sergio Rivas, just had to get a picture with these Champions – fine, “co”-champs.
Blake’s is honored to support the Somos Unidos Foundation and New Mexico United in their ongoing efforts to make soccer accessible to all and strengthen communities across the state.
Blake’s LOTABURGER is proud to support food-focused initiatives through LOTAHeart that strengthen and uplift our New Mexico communities. Throughout the year, our team donates breakfast burritos at local events, including the Enchantment Games and the Burrito Fun Run, helping fuel volunteers and participants who come together to support important community services.
Our partnership with Just Serve and the Albuquerque Isotopes allows our team to help collect and sort non-perishable food items, which are then distributed to the Lobo Food Pantry and other Just Serve Central New Mexico groups. These efforts directly support families facing food insecurity across the state.
We also continue our long-standing collaboration with New Mexico United at Roadrunner Food Bank, where our teams work side-by-side to sort and pack food for neighbors in need. This volunteer tradition reflects our ongoing commitment to giving back and strengthening access to essential resources throughout New Mexico.
