Blake’s LOTABURGER partnered with HopeWorks NM, one of the largest homeless service providers in New Mexico, to donate lunch & enlist volunteers for a picnic that hosted 75 people in late September. To commend HopeWorks for their initiative to offer support, healing, safety & love to the community facing homelessness Blake’s provided all of the fixings for LOTA Frito Pies. There was a grateful crowd that gathered to celebrate the picnic & serve themselves a hefty serving of Frito Pie. Blake’s is proud to provide a meal to help soften the blow of homelessness.

Team Blake’s had an opportunity to join the Albuquerque Isotopes & Just Serve Central New Mexico in collecting non-perishable items to help ease food insecurity in our communities. Thanks to everyone who donated their time & items!
Members of our Corporate Team wanted to extend some LOTA LOVE to our crews in Grants & Gallup. On Wednesday, June 12th 2024 our crews were surprised with homemade cards, donuts & balloons as a show of appreciation for all their awesome work.

The Blake’s team got together over the weekend with Silver Horizons at their Strikes for Seniors Event, which is an annual event that helps get support for the organization and their initiatives across the state of NM. This was a fun way for us to get involved with their good cause while bowling and bonding as a community.
Silver Horizons focus is helping seniors who may be experiencing difficulty paying particular bills due to unusual circumstances. Their program has continued to evolve and aid better meet today’s realities. This is in a variety of forms, all in order to keep seniors and their families feeling safe and secure in their own homes.
LOTA Heart has been working with Silver Horizons for a couple of years now in different ways, from food and equipment donations to teaming up with them on community giveback and we always appreciate that chance to team up and make a difference.

Blake’s HR team came together for some good-cause-fun. NM’s favorite soccer team (New Mexico United) put on a charity event this past weekend for their Somos Unidos Foundation called the Foot Golf Tournament, that is help at the Sandia Golf Club. This event is yearly get together where the community can participate in a hybrid of golf and soccer.
The events goal is to raise funds for the foundation’s Soccer Belongs to Everyone Programming, which entails creating community clinics for NM locals. Visit their website to learn more about the Somos Unidos Foundation and the next Foot Golf Tournament.
Our partnership with NM Ramp Project rolls on into the spring! Some of the awesome members of our Facilities & Maintenance teams were able to donate their time & expertise to help refresh a deteriorating ramp of a homebound resident. This is an initiative we love getting involved with since it gives our team the chance to put their skills to the test and make a difference in real time.
The Executive Director of NM Ramp Project, Greg Hallstrom met us there with the lumber and gave us thorough instruction on this build out. We were able to wrap up the construction right as the tenant returned home from her appointment, surprising her with a refreshed ramp entrance.
Thanks to our partners at New Mexico United for joining us in volunteering at Road Runner Food Bank. A great way to start the new year!
For the holidays, the Blake’s Corporate team came together to create & decorate holiday gifts for local seniors in our community. The ornaments & gifts our staff made were all delivered to the David Specter Shalom House in Albuquerque. Tara & Alex from our HR department hand delivered the gifts & decked the halls (literally).
In November, Blake’s wrapped up our collection drive in participation of KOATS for Kids. Starting October 16th many Blake’s LOTABURGER locations became drop-off sites for people to donate new coats of all sizes & ages. These coats were then sorted & delivered to school districts across New Mexico. This incredible donation event helps families in need stay warm during the cold winter months. We would like to thank everyone who stopped by to donate.
Blake’s had the opportunity to participate in a benefit bowling match supporting Silver Horizons.
Silver Horizons is a nonprofit that assists seniors & their families across New Mexico by providing groceries, helping cover household bills, & helping pay for minor home repairs. Silver Horizons is the only nonprofit organization in the area that focuses first on seniors. We are proud to have been granted the opportunity to support it.
Blake’s proudly sponsors KOAT 7’s KOATS for Kids program to ensure that children across New Mexico are warm during the cold winter months. In the 2022 holiday season, 60 Blake’s LOTABURGER locations all across the State acted as donation sites to collect and distribute new coats for kids in need.
On September 23rd, 2023, Blake's LOTABURGER was thrilled to return as the Presenting Sponsor for the Lobo Cancer Challenge - an annual community fundraising event in support of the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. We appreciated the opportunity to take part with all of the other Challengers!
The National Cancer Institute rating of Comprehensive has been given to only 53 cancer centers in the United States. The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only comprehensive rated center in New Mexico & is in the top 3% of elite cancer centers nationwide.

The Blake's Facility Department has partnered with the New Mexico Ramp Project to help build & install free ramps for older adults & people with mobility issues. This nonprofit does amazing work across New Mexico & we are honored to be able to lend a hand in their efforts. The Blake’s Team was excited to have the opportunity to volunteer their time at HopeWorks. HopeWorks is one of the largest homeless providers in New Mexico, working to help “heal homelessness” by providing access to day shelter, housing, & mental/behavioral health services. On Friday, March 17th, 2023 our friends at New Mexico United helped us kick off our LOTA Heart Program at Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque where members of both corporate offices were able to sort & pack food for those in need. We look forward to the many exciting opportunities to help serve our communities in 2023!
